My life to live..

Fallen

Scarred

Bruised

Injured

Yet trying to make amends

Trying to make things right

Wronged by others

Suppressed by others

Wings detached

Tied in shackles

Gagged to silence

Beaten to helplessness

Yet can’t see the wrong

Thinking that I deserve it

But did I really?

Was there no other way??

No one there to show me the truth

And if anyone did

I know that I would not believe

Because those scars was my life to live.

  1. This is sad and painful. The poem, in my opinion, can have multiple interpretations, but seems to me the girl suffers from a torture or harassment by husband or by the society or even her lover.
The scars are real in this case, and saying they were life to live makes it pessimistic and depressing.
Scars are there, but they aren’t life, they are a part. Having courage will be a life to love. πŸ™‚

    • Yes Kritika you’re apt about the interpretation what I had in mind πŸ™‚ you’re a decoder I guess πŸ˜‰ yes life is all about pain mostly but the hope should also be alive for a better life always. But I have also seen that in some cases this hope is not there because its all shattered and buried so deep down inside that its as if its not there anymore!! But yes hope is also powerful once we have a sense of its presence or smell its presence πŸ™‚ Thank you for feeling for the post!!

      • The flip side is the first love or the butterflies in your belly before you are announced a winner or dancing in the first rain with peacocks it a smile on your mother’s face when she looks at you and many many moments of happiness that makes this life better too. It’s not just the scars, there are smiles too.
