Presently I am reading The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. It’s a great book and I am liking it till now. Just some 40 add pages are remaining (total pages are 100)
I took the bus from office to home in the evening today. I took out the book from my bag to read. I saw the bus conductor approaching, I kept the book aside, took out my wallet. What happened next was astonishing for me.
The conductor came to me and instead of taking money from me, took the book and started reading. I was stunned. You ask why? Because in India, there are very less literate people who would opt for such a profession and he was totally engrossed in the book.
He went to collect money from other passengers and again came and sat beside me reading the book. I was so happy seeing him reading the book.
I wish he could read more and have a good life just as he’s imagined for himself. He is B.A. pass (Bachelor of Arts) and due to some family issues he chose this. I gave him the book and we shook hands and at the end of my trip, we both were happy souls ❤
P.S.: Ed Sheeran’s Shape of you is my new favorite 😀 I secretly took a pic of the guy reading. Hope this is good.
This is such a heart warming post Darshith 🤗 you’re a wonderful human :). But clicking pics of people without asking them? Not cool bro 🙄

I loved this post! Everything about it! What a kind kindred gesture!
My mother related one incident when a bus conductor had a conversation with her and my father regarding increasing tax and then relating it with the classic Gujarati poem Grama-mata by the poet Kalapi. (Being a Gujarati, do you know this poem?)

No, I do not know this poem 😀 Yes, we should not judge the knowledge of someone from their profession. Thanks for reading.

Very busy! I’m in grad school now and preparing for my master’s research, so I don’t visit as many blogs as I used to. But I’ll try to stop by yours more often!

That’s understandable! I also seldom read and write nowadays. Hope your master’s research is going good 😁

It felt good to me too to encounter such a person. I will order another piece of The Metamorphosis today 😀 I started another book ‘The count of Monte Cristo’ 😛 How are you?

Ah, that’s a good one… The Count of Monte Cristo. I read it years and years ago. Haven’t read The Metamorphosis. Maybe I should pick it up, considering the way that guy was engrossed in reading it.
I am doing good. How about you? You have shifted your focus to vlogging, I guess. And that is why we see less of you here.
Where did you travel to, this winter? It snowed a lot in Shimla in December. Which was what you missed when you visited 🙂

Yeah! We missed snow in Shimla when we visited 😓 and this winter it snowed. As always, wrong timing 😂 this winters I went to Pune and also roamed near by places in B’lore itself. Yeah, I am into vlogs and blogs too. I am done with The Count of Monte Cristo. Also bought The Metamorphosis so will try to finish that soon.

Well, it got rather cold so perhaps it is good that you gave the hills a miss this winter 😀 hope you enjoyed the travel and the sightseeing.
How did you like the The Count of Monte Cristo?

The count of Monte Cristo is good. I got The Metamorphosis so I will resume reading it again. I missed the hills this year but travelled to Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Many more places remaining. I am on fire 😂
