Make your own story

Neerja gave a kick start to this wonderful challenge. This is a make your own story challenge. Follow the link Make Your Own Story to know all about the start. With utmost curiosity, I was looking forward to see the challenge swinging to Tejas and from there to my dearest Sri and then to Nimi. And now, it’s my turn to give a try.

Neerja is a wonderful writer who always keeps experimenting. I really appreciate her for starting this cool challenge which turned ON my story-teller. She gave the baton to Tejas, a person who makes wonders in this wordpress. His Jack & Jill strips are really funny. He tied a wonderful knot to the story and gave the rest to Sreechandra. Sri.. She appears like once in a blue moon. But each & every time she brings up something magical. She swipes off my feet always. She is a superstar who carries life in every word she writes. Sri di passed it to Nimi, the girl who has not only loads of talent but potential to make it big. She’s a great friend and a wonderful person at heart and loves Football(I love her for that and more). Thank you, Nimi, for nominating me for this challenge. Now it’s my turn to give a leap from where Nimi stopped.

Rules of the challenge:

  1. You have to continue from where the nominator has left.
  2. You have to nominate only one person in this challenge.
  3. You have to write the story in next 24 hours.
  4. You have to write 100 words only.
  5. Provide the link of the earlier part of the story.
  6. You are free to end the story.
  7. And yes don’t forget to thank your nominator.
  8. Write your views about the nominee and nominator.

Story so Far…

Once upon a time their existed a wasteland in Patliputra. There lived a little boy named Aditya who was only child of Madhavi and Shankara. They used to love him a lot and wanted him to dream big and get out of this wasted land. But Aditya unlike his parents had some another dream. He wanted to improve and convert his wasteland into a dreamland where everybody wants to live. Aditya knew he had to convince his parents for this but he didn’t how will they react and whether they will approve this idea of his dreamland.

The clock struck two past midnight as a stream of snowy moonlight sneaked through the swinging-with-the-breeze curtains and scattered on Aditya’s bed. As the squeaking sparrow went back inside the ancestral wall clock after two tweets, Aditya sneaked out of his bed quietly.

He stuffed pillows under his blanket in a shape to disguise as himself. He tiptoed out to the backyard. He double checked on both sides for no one following him before going behind the banyan tree.

As planned, Shivansh was already waiting for him there. A nod from both of them assured, everything was on track. Aditya plucked out a wrinkled paper from his pocket and Shivansh’s eyes twinkled with a beaming smile.

With quivering fingers Aditya unfolded the paper. The near-yellow paper definitely looked old.

“Here”, Aditya smiled, “is the key to our dreams….If only we can get hold of this, we shall have enough resources to convert this wasteland into the land of our dreams”.

Shivansh’s eyes shone in genuine glee. He intently looked at the unfolded paper in front of his eyes. Within seconds his eye-brows stitched into each other transforming into puzzled curiosity.

“But this looks empty Adi. This is a blank paper.”

Aditya smiled. A hint of mischief waved past his face.

“Just wait and watch the magic”, Adi whispered.

He then held up the paper and placed it against the circular moon. The moonlight diffused through the ridges and furrows of the wrinkled paper lending a surreal look. Within seconds a faint map appeared on it.

Shivansh couldn’t believe his eyes. He had many questions but Aditya’s eyes were fixed on the map.

With intense seriousness he pointed to a lotus emblem right at the middle of the map.

“And here is our destination – Padmabharan – the lotus urn”.

“What is this? Who gave you this?” Shivansh’s face revealed all his zest.

Aditya is still carrying a calm face beaming at the map. Shivansh turned blue.

“Adi, this won’t make any trouble. Right?” His voice trembled slightly.

“Calm down Shiva. Don’t be over reactive as always.” Without taking eyes off the map, still held against the moon, Aditya stepped closer to Shivansh and whispered. “We are going to make history in Pataliputra.” His voice expressed extreme determination.

Shivansh stood with his mouth half-open wondering how this piece of old paper and two fourteen-years old boys going to make history.

Aditya continued. ” This is the ultimate treasure. Once we reach here, this will give us everything we need.” He pointed Padmabharan.

“But how can we find this? This is just a map, barely a map that we have never seen before.” Shivansh started losing his patience.

“I read about this in a book owned by my Dada. I got this map from the slit on the hard bind of the book. This Padmabharan is somewhere here.” Aditya continued examining the map.

Shivansh made a step aback and checked his premise. Somewhere here? With fear and anxiety, he asked. “Adi, don’t make me more confused. Will you please explain?’

Aditya nodded “Yes!”

And the story continues…..

“Some days before dying, my Dada handed me a book and asked me to read it carefully and said that each written word in it is TRUE. He also asked me to pursue it with someone whom I can trust blindly,” whispered Adi, and continued, “I couldn’t make heads or tails about the story till I accidently found this wrinkled paper from the slit of the book.”
Shivansh was listening attentively as if he was hypnotized and can do nothing to break the spell.

Adi continued his charm of revealing things slowly. He said, “In the book, there is mentioning of a mystery map which reveals itself when placed against the circular moon and the first time, I also had the same expression and goosebumps, just like you.”
“On reading further, it says how the people pursuing Padmabharan has to prove their worth that they are deserving of it and hence to get their hands on it, they will face many struggles and sacrifices.”
On listening this, Shivansh was scared like hell and said, “Is it like the survival of the fittest?”
Adi, who had no clue of what is there in the future, said reassuringly, “I don’t know and let’s hope there is no copies of this book or the map and no other living being has any idea of the existence of Padmabharan.”

And that’s it. My part of the story. 100 words is too less. I really need a novel out of this. Now I have so many people to suggest, I go with my close writer friend Jackie to continue this story..
Jackie, use your knowledge of ancient history and make a masterpiece effect on this story 🙂
Good luck!!

Frequency of inspiration..

Read about an atomic nucleus?
It has protons
And electrons and neutrons
I don’t know about
Any recent discovery made
So each nucleus is the replica
Of our big, humongous universe
You agree?
Great! Thank you!
Similarly, we ourselves
are replicas of God
Or the super power
We believe in
Because we got
IMMENSE power within ourselves
Wanna know how?
Think about your heart ache
Think about the demise of your close one
Think about the injury you suffered
Think about the frustration
Think about the anger
Think about the irritation
And also the solitude
And still you are here
You are alive
You faced it
You SURVIVED!
Did anyone help you?
Yes, of course
Who?
Friends, families
Books, smiles
Strangers even
But don’t forget
You helped yourself
You inspired yourself
This feeling came from within
From that heart
From that soul
Which is like a nucleus
A very small part
Of this big, humongous world
But still a replica
And irrespective of the size
All are tuned to the same frequency
Frequency of inspiration
We don’t know who is being inspired
By seeing the smile on our faces
By seeing how we are facing dire situations
Still we are leaving impact
These impacts
Gives rise to inspiration
But you need to have it from within
To see it
To feel it
To match the frequency
To replicate it
To spread it
To evolve yourself
And also the others
Difficult? I know
Impossible? C’mon!
I never thought, I would be writing something
And people would be reading my work
But here we are
I never thought, 400 people would be following me
But here we are
I never thought, I would be Who I am
But here we are
So, accept who you are
And inspire others
And automatically, you will be inspired
You will be evolved
You will be You
Who you ALWAYS wanted to be
Also satisfied by what you become 🙂

The Liebster award:

Thanks Neerja for the nomination and a great set of questions.

Rapid Fire Round begins–

Q: What is your favorite read so far and why?

A: I have read some great books and still a long to-be-read list is awaiting always. I really loved Harry Potter, reading recently A Song of Ice and Fire(the Game of Thrones series), but I would say The Boy in the Striped Pajamas has been my favorite. The story is so innocent and how a boy struggles to adjust to new places as his father is involved in the World War, The emotions described are lovely. If you want, you can download the PDF of the book in my G-Drive here. A movie is also made on the book. I haven’t seen the movie yet but I have been told that it’s also worth watching. Check it here.

Q: What kind of a person you are sweet or sour or mix up of both?

A: Do anyone tell they are sour? Do anyone tell they are bad? I ain’t for sure telling that 😉 I am sweet. Trust me 😀

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I was suffering from Typhoid since the last week and till the leaves are continuing 😉 I miss the delicious food 😦 Can’t eat anything from outside and have to wait for some more days also 😦 I love almost every veg, junk food available 😀 I love to eat tid-bits and in regular intervals, rather than 1 heavy meal and done for the day. I love Chole Bhature, all kind of sweets, ice creams, chocolates 😦

Q: Are you a night owl or an early cuckoo?

A: No one in our family is an early cuckoo 😀 Most are night owls and I am *proud*of that 😛 Even though my health was on a down side, I was awake till 3-4 am watching Football or Breaking Bad 😉 If you haven’t seen Breaking Bad, please do, it’s awesomesauce 😀

Q: Which genre you like to read most and why?

A: I love reading Fictional. Harry Potter, GOT, Eragon series, Twilight. Some detective novels are also fun 😀 Strict no to supernatural or scary books or movies also 😉 Reason being, I am sweet guy(I already mentioned that :D).

Q: What’s according to you is your prized possession?

A: The blessings of everyone and my great mother, super sisters and AWESOME F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 😛 I love each and one of them to death.

Q: Do you believe in love at first sight? If yes then why and if no, then why?

A: Yes, I do. To support, check out this cool song Love at first sight of Blue. I was called as Foolishly Romantic by one of my friend and I cherish that 😉 Love is the most important factor holding all of us. I believe that the first impression goes a long way. Love is life.

Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

A: Strictly introvert, if you’re a stranger and I don’t like your vibe. I am kind of good at socializing and talk my way through things but the main hindrance comes is the other person is not always willing to listen or understand the situation and then that makes me avoid those kind of people. I can talk at length to anybody(yeah, a stranger also) but he must be willing to participate in the talk 😉

Q: Have you ever cried in public? If yes can you state the incident?(if its personal and you don’t want to share then its ok)

A: If by public you mean family and parents, then YEAH 😉 Some dispute, long way back 😀 I prefer crying alone with closed doors and head inside the blanket.

Q: When was the last time you laughed so hard that you rolled on the floor? And why?

A: These kind of days do not come always but I can say they come quite often. I have such great friends and their sense of humor is so high that having an ache in the stomach due to laughs is frequent. I am blessed in that regard. Some leg-pulling, some mimicry and laughs are with us 😀

Q: Have you ever been made fool? When and by whom?

A: Of course. By God and teachers and everybody who said STUDY WELL AND LIFE WILL BE OKAY ONCE YOU GET A JOB 😀 I can’t see it 😛 But, I am kidding 😉 I don’t know exactly what kind of fool it’s asked(I don’t know the various categories) but friends have made fool like in jest. Life has made a fool, like the above example 😛 There are some examples 😉

Roopam, the sweetum, nominated me with Sunshine Blogger award.

sunshine

She asks, “Share that one thing you really really really want to do, like down the lane, in future? “.

A: I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow, so future is the extreme point of uncertainty for me 😉 I definitely want to be a good Dad. That’s very far yet one of the important things for me. Somewhere down the road, I want to make some difference in this world. I had read somewhere, “Make this world a better place than you received.”

All jumbled thoughts. Hope someday, they will be aligned and working 🙂

Mon has nominated me for Quotes challenge. I will write on it soon. Thank you for the nomination though 😉

Kritika nominated me for The Blogger Recognition award.

Something to know about the award :
This award was originally created by Eve @ Edge of the Night

About how Smiles here & Smiles there started:

First of all, this name is not with which it started. It was some other name, which I don’t remember as it was more than 2 years back and I was seldom blogging. Somehow, I changed the name to this and didn’t realize until someone nominated Smiles here & Smiles there. I couldn’t understand, why would someone use the site name and not my name. I didn’t like it and then slowly, I accepted that this name is not that bad and to tell the truth, it very closely signifies me. Now I am in love with the name and to tell a secret, I am thinking of getting a tattoo with the same name on me. Just a passing thought. Will have to give more serious thoughts to it 😛

To the newbies out there, WP is awesome, people here are all friendly and awesome. Connect with them and write whatever comes to your mind. Some will help you, some will guide you, some will encourage you, some will give you platform to launch your words, but most of all, each and everyone will appreciate you. We all feel some strong and unique bond to words and hence this bond will take us all far. Keep writing and keep learning. Keep smiling 🙂

That notification sound..

Smartphoneusers-300x200

My phone
Is like a whining baby
Who keeps on
Whining always
Some notification sound
Now and then
Some notification sound
At regular intervals
But I don’t care much
For any of those
Until I hear THAT SOUND
For which I crave
No matter what I am doing
I never fail to attend to it
And if it’s not you
Yes I curse
Under my breath
And keep my phone aside
Doing the unnecessary
Things which I do
To wait for
THAT SOUND
Until I hear
It again

Others matters..

Pray.

Kneel down.

Not because others do.

Not because others say.

But because we believe.

We believe in Him.

If not Him, then on a higher power.

On something bigger than humans.

On some miraculously magical energy.

Trust it.

Pray for it’s increased strength

Because we derive our strength from it.

Pray for it’s increased energy

Because we derive our energy from it.

Pray with a bigger heart.

Pray not only for ourselves

But also for others.

Because we are included in others.

He will not search for us

While showering His blessings.

He will sprinkle it on us.

On all of us.

The more we pray for all.

The more He sprinkles.

The more we get.

The more you get.

The more I get.

Don’t be selfish.

Or else you will be

Standing with an umbrella

Thinking the sprinkle as dust

Or a mild hail storm

And get naught.

While others around you

Will be celebrating.

So think of others also.

Not before yourself.

But think about them.

Others matters.

May be not to you.

But to Him.

To higher energy.

And you will be blessed accordingly.

DAY 4

Caged for pleasure

Meant to swim across the skies

Caged for beauty

Meant to chirp

Caged to never be free

I read somewhere “If you like a flower, you pluck it. If you love a flower, you water it daily.”

Similar is with nature & its beauty. Birds are meant to be free & flying at their will.

DAY 3

This is in response to Kritika’s Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. Thank you Kritika for giving me this wonderful opportunity to express my thoughts in a different manner.

The challenge is – “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”

I would like to nominate Nicole for this challenge(Day 3).

My Final Destination..

Never did I think
As a kid
That some day
I will write
Write my heart out
And there
Will be people
Out there reading
My work
My art
Appreciating it
Relating with it
Accompanying me
On my journey
Sharing my thoughts
Sharing my views
Sharing my life per se
And it is true
It is not that easy
This journey of Life
And we need friends
We need support
We need companion
We need love
Some people
Act as hurdles
On this journey
Decreasing our speed
Sometimes, bringing us
To hault
But, once we have
Crossed the hurdle
It won’t disturb us anymore
Some people
Are like
Light poles
They lighten
Our paths
So that we can
Easily overcome
The hurdles
But, these
Light poles are left
Behind when we keep
On progressing
Ahead
Some are like
Torches
We keep them with Us
Always
Because
We trust them
And in need
We seek their help
And they seldom
Fail to our expectations
And help us
When we think
Every other option
Was gone
It’s never ever
About the
End of the Journey
called ‘The Destination’
Our Journey
Is ‘The Final Destination’
You all are
A part of
My Final Destination..
