3 minutes talk with a stranger

Let me tell you a story.
This happened on Saturday(25th June 2022).
I was traveling to go see a beach.
I was on the way in an auto. (see pic below)

Auto Rickshaw in India. No copyrights.

And a stranger boarded it.
He was looking like an 18-20-year-old kid. With a lot of tattoos.

It was just him and me apart from the driver.

He turned towards me and said, “I was running a partnership firm where we used to take 10000 INR from people and return 16000 INR in 2 months.”
I simply nodded.

He then continued “I have left that firm because all the hard work was done by me and others were just using me to become rich.”
I smiled and nodded.

He then asked, “Would you like to invest 10000 INR and get 16000 INR in 2 months?”
I said “No. Thank you.”

He said “Why not? It’s a good deal. This is quick money.”
I said “No. Thank you.”

He was surprised and asked, “Don’t you trust your younger brother?”
I said “No.”

He asked again, “Would you be willing to help?”
I asked “Whom?”

He said “Me obviously. Would you give me 250 INR?”
I said “Nope.”

He said shockingly, “Are you sure?”
I said, “Yes, I am sure.”

He then sat quietly for a minute with disbelief in his eyes that someone is not being lured by becoming rich faster. He asked the auto driver to stop and he got down.
Then he argued with the driver about the fare that he charged for 3 minutes trip.

P.S.: There’s no easy money-making trick except for Vegas casinos 😀 How are you, guys? Today’s song pick is Let me go by Hailee Steinfeld. I will try to add more #travelStories posts.

Train coaches and us

Hey! Have you ever traveled on a train?

How beautiful it feels

How exciting the journey seems

And I am sure that most of us

Would have heard something like

In life, many trains will come and go

If we think from the perspective of the Railway stations

And, if it is vice-versa

Many Stations will come and go

But, let’s picture a still train

Do you see various coaches?

The prices of the various coaches also vary

The exterior of the train remains the same throughout

But based on the interior

The services, the prices vary

So, what can we learn from it?

All humans are the same

But what makes others an attractive proposition

Someone with whom we want to spend more time

Is the fact that they are beautiful from the inside

Their worth is priceless

They work on themselves and help others

And make others comfortable

And hence most people want that

And they are willing to pay more

Because that feel-good factor is what

Is an addiction

Because it is scarce in today’s world

So be good from the inside

Just like the premium coaches of the trains

And you’ll see people eyeing you with awe

Few would be jealous too

But we know that we have worked on ourselves

And maintained this about ourselves

To become premium in life

P.S.: No song pick for this blog because couldn’t think of a new song. You can share new songs in the comment section.

Beast in the town

There’s a new beast in the town
Please beware as he’s come to stay
No, he doesn’t come from someplace else
This is his place and he’s here to stay
This beast was born out of thoughts
And as the thoughts are new
And so is this beast
This beast is taking the place of a simple guy
This guy who knew love, life, and smiles
I don’t deny that this beast won’t love or smile
But he’ll be careful going ahead
As he’s faced the hardships of life
He’s seen it all
He’s faced it all
And he wants to avoid it
But what’s life without hardships?
But just as a man’s gotta try
This beast is here to try
To be strong
To be direct and straight and precise
To be the best beast he can be

P.S.: Today’s song pick is Shayad by Taba Chake. Happy June to all!

Maktub

Life has its own way of unraveling things

Sometimes it’s instant

Sometimes it takes time

But it always comes back

To help/haunt you

Giving you heads-up

Giving you signals and omens

To understand them

And then you should pause and reconsider

If you’re in touch with your true self

You do not ignore these Universe signs

You respect it

Try to understand it

Get help to understand it

Process it

And then act on it

Because no matter our thoughts and words

Actions are the most important

Efforts implementing the thoughts and words are important

And once you act correctly

The Universe smiles at you

This World smiles at you

And the entire sky will have Maktub written all over it

And not just the sky

Your heart and life will be filled with contentment.

P.S.: Hey guys! How are you all? Today’s song pick is Pahadon Mein by Salman Elahi. I crave some good travel experience.

Seasons and You

You got the warmth and care in you of Summer for people you love from your heart.

You got the blossoming nature in you of Spring for people who are confused and who can use your help.

You got the nature of the Rainy in you because you know you cry and don’t feel bad and ashamed about it. This is you and you have embraced it. But also when someone sheds tears for you, you feel them. You understand them.

You got the nature of Autumn in you because you know things falls apart, bonds fall apart but eventually with proper wait, right things grow and right people come to admire us. You’re growing and you’re always admired.

You got the nature of Winter in you because you like cozy and cute things like books, stationary stuff, etc. Something which gives you a sense of soothing. Hold these on a cold night and you feel at peace.

You’re everything in one. You got it all. Seasons and you go hand in hand.

P.S.: Hello, folks! How are you, all? I know, I have been away since a long, long time and this above write-up is also an old one. I haven’t been writing since a while but I am eager to be back. Hope you’re all doing good in this pandemic and remembering to smile more often and spread your beautiful smile to others. Take care, people. Today’s song pick is Ankur & The Ghalat Family – Dil Haare | Sofar Bombay.

Art to the rescue

Art had never taken a back-seat

It was always the savior of human life

The biggest contributing factor for keeping us sane

Through thick and thin

And definitely during this pandemic

When going out is restricted

When staying home is the safest thing to do

When being self-dependent is the best choice

Where being online and working is the most draining chore

But then still we’re left with time

With extra energy and instead of indulging

In scrolling through social media

We can take help of Art

Just like we have done since the beginning of time

We can read, paint, draw, sew, sleep

We can have our proper “me-time”

And trust Art to keep us sane

To make us creative

To help us feel confident

To help us smile more

To help us and help the world around us.

P.S.: Hello, folks! How are you? Hope you and your family are safe during this pandemic situation. Today’s song pick is Honeybee by The head and the heart.

Others and us

Sometimes it feels like
We know others better
Than we know ourselves
And it feels true
And it is true too
In today’s world
We’re bombarded with so much information
We try to apply it all
Our knowledge about others
And we feel pride
That we know and sometimes
We judge others too
Not realizing
That if we would apply the same
On to ourselves
We would have become a more better person
A more understanding person
And this would lead us to more happiness
Because we would know how and what to tune in ourselves
To link to the channel of happiness
Now that we know more about others
We decide frequently
To try to find someone new
To know
To understand
And hence we keep on hoping from person to person
What would be ideal is?
Knowing thyself
Believing in us
And trying to talk
Trying to communicate
And express
And live a life of abundance

Outside is a myth

These are the times of the virus

People are suffering day in, day out

Oop! Nothing to do with outside

Outside is a myth

It’s all day in, an hour by hour

And as it is all ‘in’ and ‘indoors’

Let’s try to go more ‘into’ ourselves

And this is how we’ll be able to fight this time

This new challenge is to keep ourselves calm and at peace

It cannot be done by focusing our energy on the external stuff

As it is beyond our control

This time around, we’ll have to go within

Learn about our habits and patterns

And thoughts and ideas

And try to accept them

Try to give a different narrative

To this entire external situation

And that is how we can be in peace

We can live in the moment

We can amor fati (love our fate)

We can momento mori (death is inevitable)

And we can stay calm and smiling

Maybe this virus lead us here indirectly

But now as we are here

Let’s try to make the best use of this

And come out with flying colors

And when things become better

We’ll definitely get chance to experience

The external factors again 🙂

P.S.: This week’s song is How to be me by Ren & Chinchilla. I hope you’re taking proper care and trying to stay safe. Prayers and smiles to you all. Ping me, if you want to talk and share your experience. ‘Amor fati‘ and ‘Momento mori‘ are concepts of Stoicism.

Mothers, prayers, and what not

I have seen my mother pray
Pray with full dedication
As if nothing else exists
As if nothing else matters
She prays for everyone
Maybe except for herself
Sometimes she cries
Something has to be bothering her
She doesn’t want to share it with us

Today, I was at a church in Kanyakumari
On my path to self-discovery
Reading The pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho there
And penning down some of my thoughts
I heard some sobs and crying
On looking, I saw a mother
Praying to Jesus
Asking for some fortunate events maybe
While her two kids were sleeping on the floor
Tears running down her cheeks
With a religious book in her hand
With thousands of thoughts in her mind
Of the imminent future
And the testing present

And then she calmed down
Bowed in front of Him
And kissed the kids
Woke them up and off they went

Maybe, my mother cries for the same reason while praying
For her kids, her family
Seldom for herself
And now what makes me cry
Is that my mother cries for others
And so does her son.

Amen!

Holding on & letting go

In the last few months
I tried to change a habit of mine
I used to hold my blanket in my sleep
Hold till my neck in a grip
And when I used to wake up
I felt something different in my fingers
They felt tired and looked like a claw
In seconds, it would be all good
But one night I decided while sleeping
I won’t do it
I won’t let my body hold the blanket involuntarily
I wanted to practice letting go
Letting go of the blanket
Letting go of the troubles of life
Letting go of the nightmares
Letting go of stuff not meant for me
Just letting go
And it worked
Maybe not like a charm in the beginning
But it worked
And I kind of mastered it
Fast forward and I find myself in the same loop
Of holding on
Is this never going to let go of me?
I don’t think so
And again the process of
Letting go starts
Maybe the old trick might not work
We’ll try something new
But it starts
All I want is my fingers to feel free when I wake up
Will I get there?
Of course, man!
When?
Time will tell
Because all the letting go processes are different
So, good luck for your letting go of stuff
Which we have been holding on maybe forcefully
