Quieten the mind

Oh, the thoughts!
Not always the rebellious ones
Sometimes sneaking out of the blue
Slowly dragging their way in our minds
Not letting us get rid of them
It was going all good
Things seemed to be happier
A bit brightening
And boom
The chaos strikes
Helter Skelter
Nothing in order
Nothing in control
Even if we switch off the lights
Cover our heads under the pillow
It JUST won’t stop
The thoughts
The demons
Won’t stop shouting
Won’t stop bugging
Won’t stop whispering
They want it their way
They want to leave an impact
They want to stay in our minds
Because they think we’re weak
We can’t control our minds
And they’re correct
We can’t
Not at that moment
When the chaos sparks
But then comes a time
Of the Phoenix
Because we know ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
And we want out
We want it done
We want the peace
We want the calmness
For that, we’ll do anything and everything
And if it means to stand up
Against our fear and our demons
Then so be it
We do it
Maybe not gracefully
We do it just by the edge
But we get it done
We show them the door
We drag them out of their so-called habitat
And then there’s nothing
There’s no rejoice of the victory
No cheers
There’s the pin-drop silence
The void
And then there’s us
Budding as a new person
A new thought
A new life

P.S.: Today’s song pick is Be as you are by Mike Posner.

Give it time

When I was a kid
A cute, innocent kid
I was nervous
Ask me anything
And I would start sweating
And it was so ingrained in my mind
That before anyone would come near me
I would start sweating
Such is life, my dear friend
Then I passed my academics
With the nervousness still within me
When I moved to a new city
Didn’t know the names of the places
Where to go?
How to go?
Whom to ask?
And it was all filled with the nervousness
And it still is
But the past lessons have taught me
That it has to be done
Something has to be done
If not confidently, I gotta do it nervously
And so, I do it
And the main difference now is
I sweat less during the buildup
To some new experience
Because previously I used to have
The outcome inscribed in my mind before jumping in
And this thought process used to bug me before its time
Now, there’s no conclusion anymore
There’s room for learning and enjoying it
And after reality, the conclusion is thought of
Good or bad, it had to be lived
And hence giving it time
And a bit of understanding
Has helped me learn some valuable lessons
So, people, what are you worried about? 😉

P.S.: Happy weekend to you all 😀 Today’s song is Call me Sir by Travie McCoy. If you have 1 hour time and want to use it to the maximum, please watch the below video of Yuval Noah Harari, author of Sapiens.

Let the tree grow within you..

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,

and Hope is one of those,

whereas, expectations leads to sadness, death, pain and agony,

so try to stay away from it.

Hope grows as days pass,

just like a tree from a seed.

It grows bigger, greener, stronger,

with its roots holding the soil firmly,

And it also provides shade in later stage.

Expectations decays and shortens your life,

Just like a contagious disease.

It gives pain, tears, sleeplessness,

And eats us from inside and be the reason for our death.

So, whenever you want to help,

Plant a tree or cure someone else’s disease.

Kill the disease before it kills you,

Love the shade of the tree before it leaves you.

Grow and let others grow.
